"The Sacred is in the Ordinary. It is to be found in one's Daily life, in one's neighbors, Friends, and family, in one's own backyard."
Abraham Maslow.
I read portions of Maslow's book on Religion, Meaning and Peak Experience when I was 19 and searching. I just recently revisited it when I started thinking more of the idea of how Peak Experience, Flow, and Engagement, could be combined to potentially create more efficacious and longer lasting moments of wellness.
In the process, I found this great nugget that sums up a lot. I think the idea is to slow the search for more heightened experiences in a race for more stimulation, but instead, to find stimulation in the small, wonderful things all around us.
What ordinary things Bring you Joy?
