The 8 Pillar Resilience Program
Building a stronger front line together.
OVERVIEW
The 8 Pillar Resilience Program is a challenge-based, evidence-informed program designed to strengthen mental fitness, resilience, and long-term performance.
Participants practice research-backed behaviours proven to protect mental health—embedded through repetition, gamification, accountability, and social connection.
WHO IS IT FOR?
The 8 Pillar Resilience Program was created to protect against the long-term effects of Critical Incident Stress experienced by Public Safety Professionals—and to reduce the secondary impact on their families.
Mental strength must be built before it is needed, sustained over long careers, and reinforced as demands evolve—supporting both individual resilience and healthier family systems.
THE CHALLENGE
The science of resilience is clear: we know what protects mental health and performance under stress.
The challenge is sustained behaviour change at scale. Without structure, reinforcement, and repetition, even well-designed programs fail to create lasting impact.
THE SOLUTION
Participants actively practice healthy weekly tasks drawn from eight core pillars of wellbeing, using a variety of simple, adaptable tools. These research informed weekly programs inspire connection, action and healthy competition.
1. Be Present
2. Be positive
3. Be kind
4. Nurture your relationships
5. Grow your mind
6. Optimize your situation
7. Care for your body
8. Find your meaning
WHY IT MATTERS
Public safety organizations operate in high-risk environments where psychological injury impacts readiness, absenteeism, retention, and family well-being. Proactive resilience training reduces the severity and duration of traumatic stress, sustains performance under pressure, improves morale and career longevity, and strengthens family resilience.
ROI Insight: Early, skills-based resilience programs are linked to shorter disability durations and reduced absenteeism, lowering long-term mental health costs through prevention rather than crisis.
