There is a lot that I didn't have time to mention. People often ask why I started the 8 Pillar Resilience Challenge. It was because I saw a need to create a method of implementation of known science to build mental strength and resilience. The object was to have better outcomes, greater life satisfaction, and increased longevity. Especially for first responders. My belief that the tools can help everyone.

Not aligning actions with values can cause a cognitive dissonance. It can cause unease and discomfort, which lowers your resilience. Always review for these events and review how they can be avoided.

Active Listening the easy way
There are a lot of fantastic ways to be an active listener. My suggestion is just start by being curious. If you are actively listening and trying to improve, try not being distracted by waiting to say something or engage in a certain way. Add only one strategy at a time.
